This little piggy...

sits in the corner, and is stitched over one. It's a darn good thing I love this sampler like I do because I'm going to be working on it for a long, long time. There's nothing complicated about it, but the border alone is quite involved and time consuming. I'm thinking of taking a tiny break from it to stitch a pin keep.

Sorry to be such a downer on my last post. I'm leaving the news off for the most part, so if an asteroid is heading towards Phoenix, let me know, will ya? It was nice to hear from many of you that I'm not alone in taking comfort in my stitching. Wouldn't the world be a nicer place if we needle workers were in charge?. Although that would mean major decisions would have to be put on hold while we added to our stashes, converted fibers, and fondled our precious linen. That could be a problem.
There is nothing like a little retail therapy to cheer a girl up. So, I took my own advice and went shopping for charms online late one night. Here is what landed in my cart:

The artist palette is vintage, but not the others. I found a great source here. The Mini-Cooper is my dream car, and my hilarious dh says this is as close as I'm getting to one. The sewing machine wheel turns, and the bottom opens up to reveal scissors, needle, and thread. The one on the bottom left is Noah's Ark. The apple in the center is the really special one as it opens up to these two.
Adam and Eve pop up out of the apple. Is that cool or what? Mr. dh doesn't get it, but you do, don't you?
I've spent a good part of today going through some charts to offer for sale. I don't have a list yet, but I'm working on it. Email me if you'd like to see the list at thescarletthouse@gmail.com.

I think the piggy is my favorite part of that sampler! Love your charms - I'm going to have to show my bracelets one day. I love charm bracelets and am so glad you found a good source for charms. Love the apple charm!

Love the charms! Of course! Ugh! I'm still contemplating starting a bracelet of my own. Your fault! lol! Love the piggie. Over one?! Argh! Are all the animals in the corners over one? Argh!! Maybe I'll wait on this one. :D

Awesome!!! And funnily enough, I have the Noah's Ark charm too. The little piggy is pretty cute over one.

I think your sampler is coming along great, but I really understand about the border - borders and I don't get along well. Probably picking up something small will be a good thing.

And you know, now I need some charms. I almost got that A&E one from Ebay a while ago, forgot about it, and now need it again - plus the sewing machine, etc.

Now that's a cute piggy :-). Love the Country Life piece, it's really pretty.

The charms are wonderful, I think I need to see a close up of the A&E charm ;-).

Hi Tanya, I also love your pink piggy. Your sampler is looking wonderful and looking forward to seeing more of it.
Love your charms. On one of my trips to England I drove a Mini around England for a month. Wonderful little car. You have a wonderful lot there. Love the apple with A&E. One English charm I always wished I bought was a silver box with glass windows with a pound note all folded up inside it. I'll have to show my 2 charm braclets along with my 2 Pandora braclets one day. - Sandra.

Tanya, your charms are beautiful. Collecting them is so much fun, whether you collect them for yourself or someone else.

Love the sampler! I don't recall ever seeing a pig quite like that on a sampler before.

Love the pig, your sampler is looking gorgeous.

The charms are lovely especially the Mini. We've had a Mini Cooper for several years now, they're great cars.

I think so far the piggy is by far my favorite. I love the charms. I have to say, Tanya, the sewing machine is my favorite but I do like the apple - way cool how A&E are locked in the fruit!

Being a lover of everything folk artsy, I adore this sampler. The horse and pig is just perfect. I don't think this sampler would have looked like much without that awesome border. I love borders again. Sure, they are time consuming, but they do make samplers. I like your new charms. Love the attention to detail. I will be off to get some retail therapy at a "vide grenier" tomorrow morning. I do hope to find something unusual or to only enjoy getting out a bit.

Nice progress! I can see how it could be a potential stitchy mojo stealer, though! Gotta love the pin keeps for their "breather" qualities!

Welded Bliss??!!?? I actually just ordered from them!! It came in late last week - what did I order you ask?? I loved your Bloody Tower charm so much, I ordered it from them. I also eBaying for charms for my new bracelet and came across them. There's another one I ordered several charms from on eBay - Maldon Jewellery. I was happy with all the stuff I got from them as well.

Have a great week!
