The three S's

Sneezing, stitching, and sports pretty much sum up the week for me. I could do without all of the sneezing. My allergies are driving me crazy, so I've been housebound working on these. I'm moving up to the big Algerian eye alphabet. I like this sampler a lot, but I'm getting to that antsy point where I want to start something new. I think I'm a little burnt out on these bigger pieces, so maybe I should focus on some smalls for a change. So without further whining, here's more of Ann Wragg.

Before I started the Anns, (Miss Hicks has been temporarily kicked to the curb), I started Lucy Maria Wiggin from the Scarlet Letter, shown below. I love the look of the design, but I'm so not a pastel fan. I didn't have the green fabric like the original, so I pulled out a piece of Sienna Night from Lakeside.

I tried to use the charted colors, I really did try. But, after doing a small section of border and the whole bowl of berries, I couldn't make myself go on. I ripped it out and started over. I'm choosing the colors as I go, something I've never done before. I'm not sure if I like it better or not. You can see the original colors of the border that I've yet to remove. At least it will be my own version if nothing else.

In between watching both the Coyotes (series tied 2-2) and the Suns (series tied 1-1) playoffs, I found another silhouette on EBay. It reminded me of my sons when they were younger, even though they wouldn't have been caught dead dressed like that. AND, they certainly would never have held hands.. Pummeling and punching each other would be more like it. Okay, maybe it doesn't remind me of them so much, but I like it anyway.

Cool silhouette! So what if your boys would never have dressed that way or held hands? lol! Love your Ann! And the colors for Lucy -- nice!! I like that lovely berry color! Sigh. I have no inspiration to touch mine at all with the pastels. Hope your allergies get better and your teams win!

What a great silhouette - don't you just love ebay!

Oh, the pollen here is unbelievable. My poor car stays covered in a yellow film - it's awful. Sure hope your allergies clear up soon!

Love Ann and I love your version of Lucy.

How's Blue doing?

I'm liking your conversion for Lucy... well worth the effort of picking out the tame pastels. You are not a tame person... so go with what works for you.
I'm looking forward to your next post and the cursing of the Algerian eyelet stitches. You and Sandy can cry on each others shoulders.

LOL about your comment about your boys! That's a cute silhouette. I love Ebay--it is soooo dangerous, though.

At the risk of being haunted by the ghost of Lucy, I think your rendition of her sampler is much nicer than the original. I love love love your Ann, too!

Wow where to start, ummmm I am an enabler so I think a few smaller projects would be a good thing ;-). I mean what's one more project, LOL.

Love Ann Wragg and the colors are on Lucy are gorgeous. I always love your conversions.

Hope the allergies ease some soon. This is a terrible time of year for them.

The silhouette is very nice too! Your collection is really growing :-).

I love Ann so far. Here allergies are also in the order of the day but exception to the rule, I don't have problems with pollen or when the grass seed. Usually I am the one that snots and sneeze but it's mainly because of food. I love Spring! : ) Sweet silhouette. I don't even go on ebay. Way too dangerous.

Tanya, I'm always amazed that the beautiful charts I see at the shops come to life and are a dozen times more beautiful when you stitch them!

We have all been sneezing, wheezing and coughing here, too. It's really bad this year and has taken the fun right out of Spring! Hope yours passes soon.

Love the new silhouette. I remember having that done and I have one of my sweet DH from when he was young. I treasure it!

Have a good weekend

What a great sillouette. Your samplers are always enough to make my heart pound a little faster! You do such wonderful work. I love how you are picking out colors as you go. I know what you mean about getting burned out though because my current WIP is starting to feel really tired and drawn out!

That is a nice silhouette. I can remember my parents having one done of me and my brother when we were children. I need to ask them about it and find out where it is. :)

Ann and Lucy both look fabulous!! I think it is neat that you are picking your own colors for Lucy as you go.

Hope you are feeling better.

I'm new to your blog & you are a girl after my heart!! Love the hockey and the Basketball, I follow different teams, but there have been some great games & matches. Can't stitch & watch hockey at the same time...a lot of frogging. I'm forever changing thread colors to my liking, will even add varigated threads for a different look. Ebay is dangerous for the checkbook/credit card...but fun and some good buys.
