I know it's still early...

new set on my Etsy
but I'm done with summer. I'm completely summered out! I know that I just used horrific grammar, but I'm moving on to fall, even if I have to go by myself. I'm dying to dig out my pumpkins, gourds, and bittersweet. I love decorating for autumn more than any other season.
One can only handle just so much of the sunshine and blue skies. I want a cool, cloudy day. I want a pumpkin bar with my pumpkin latte. I want some leaves to fall off the trees. I want to wear real shoes, not just flip flops. I want to need a jacket when I'm outside. I want to burn a cinnamon spice candle. I want to make a pot of homemade soup when it's below 90 degrees. I want a caramel apple. How about you? Are you ready for a new season?
Digging through my stash for something different, I came upon this one from Notforgotten Farm. I love the willow tree and tombstones on her dress. I might stitch this up and make her into a pillow. If I start now, I might be able to enjoy it this Halloween.

I'm in love with that pattern! I need to order that one. Yep, I'm moving into autumn too--my hubs just hung out our big Halloween windsocks off the back deck, lol. I'm ready!

I love the NFF Halloween Queen - I've been wanting to stitch it for several years but I'll have to be content with hooking my NFF Merrie Halloween - I just can't start anything else right now but I'll sure enjoy seeing your's materialize Tracy. I'm right there with you on the "ready for fall" sentiments - we are in the Smokies right now and they are in full fall mode up here. Of course they have been thru a really depressed down summer and I'm sure they are all praying for a better leaf season in a few short weeks up here. Enjoy your decorating and please show some photos when you have time. Mel

Tanya, I have a feeling you are going to make some dough on these Halloween treats here. They are sooooooooooo adorable. LOTS of people, as you are one of them, loves Halloween. Your painting is fantastic!!!!!

However, I'm a summer girl. It can be summer all year long and I'd be one happy girl. I hate winter. I was born in Dec. and it was difficult to do anything up north. (I live in the south now and I'm staying.) I hate cold weather, although I do enjoy the colors of autumn more than any other season, but I hate the deadness. And spring makes me sneeze, cough and I can't breathe no matter what I take, and the rain really sucks...ugh, all the rain. I'm miserable. I'd rather sweat to death. In fact, just send me to the sun. LOL I'm getting sad just thinking that summer will be over soon and we'll all be covered up. I also hate having to wear all the layers too b/c I'm always so darn cold. I can never get warm in the cold months. Like I said...send me to the sun. LOL

Come to Finland! Summer is gone already for a week. It isn't cold yet but we have a chilly breeze from the sea coming in and the first leaves started falling already. Autumn is my favorite season as well, if there wasn't all that rain, making everything dirty and muddy.

I love the chart you have picked for your next project. I am sure you will have it ready in no time.

Girl, you are too flipping talented, with both a needle and a paint brush. I love your new set! I am ready for autumn, and it has set in here, but man I miss it back in the US at this time of year. Unfortunately the rain has also set in, so the jackets are rain jackets and the cool crisp air is actually humid and wet. Blergh.

I was just talking with Carol about Halloween Queen! I want to stitch it, too. Maybe this year.

Oh please don't rush summer away yet. I am still enjoying wearing fun skirts and pretty sandals. I want to continue grilling out, eating salads, and making fruit smoothies. I love my Saturday mornings at the Farmer's Market and then going for a long bike ride.

I do love, love your Halloween set - it is wonderful! I agree with Siobhan, you are amazingly talented!

Hie hie, that is the cutest etsy set. I am not ready for Autumn yet and find myself scurrying around trying to get everything ready for the cold. I feel caught with my pants down as the first cold wave passed a few days ago. Today a bit of sunshine and what a relief. I was out there all day cleaning with the Karcher so that everything is nice and tidy for winter.

I'm the reverse. Come on Spring lol. BTW what is a pumpkin latte. We don't have the same sort of pumpkins out here that you do.
Your new Halloween set is lovely. You are a very talented lady. - Sandra.

Tanya, that new set you've painted is really really cute! You're really on a roll there!

You know, that's what's great about having seasons and while I love the sunshine, fall is a lovely time to cozy down (did you like that grammar?).

The NFF piece is cute, but I must ask you - Where is the next big sampler (for which you're known)?

teehee - no pressure!

Tanya, I thought I could manage drudging through the rest of the summer without focusing on how ready I am for fall, but your post just brought it all to the surface! I agree 100% and am looking forward to all of those things!

Your Halloween set is very cute! And Halloween Queen is really cute stitched. Looks like a fun project!

Love the Halloween Queen piece! And as always, your handpainted accessories are wonderful.

I am definitely ready for fall, it's not suppose to get out of the 50s here on Saturday so I am already planning what kind of yummy stew I can make.

Honestly, I am ready for fall too - except of course for these very fall-like allergies that I am having this week. UGH! But I am all about fall and Halloween - bring it on!

LadyV said...

Oh me too. I am sooo ready for Autumn and crisp air. Baking wafting through the house. . . apples, spice and cinnamon candles. I totally agree. It just doesn't seem to fit burning a candle in summer. And I've been doing some Halloween stitching already.

I finished Halloween Queen last year and made it into a pillow. It was a fun stitch and love having it out. Is it too soon? LOL Joy
