Tonight, my husband will come home and ask me what I painted today. When I show him my version of Adam and Eve, he's going to say "who would want little naked people on that?" I'm going to reply "hopefully, somebody". He just doesn't get some of my subject matter. The tombstone angel set was the perfect example. He didn't understand why anyone would want that either. The look on his face was classic when I told him it sold right away. Now, it all makes sense, right?
I sent my first package off to Bloom Woodworks on Tues. They will soon be offering assorted thread keeps that I've painted. I'll show photos in a day or two.

Wow, Rebecca is looking so pretty, almost ready to take center stage for her curtain call! I'm looking forward to seeing what your GH stitch looks like as I have no clue what the design is.
That's a funny story about your DH. Men! ;-)
Rebecca is almost finished! You're sooo close! Blast those flowers! lol!
I just love that Adam and Eve set! Oh dear, I don't know which I like better - the tombstone angel set or the Adam and Eve! Shows what your husband knows. lol!
I have had absolutely no time to read blogs this week, but the minute I saw your title I just had to read it! You are so right about the men - totally clueless. Like my DH asking why I cut fabric in a million pieces to put it back together for a quilt. I love your new pieces as A&E are favorites of mine.
Rebecca is looking wonderful and I give you a ton of credit for committing to two of the flowers a day. I'm sure it's boring to do, but it's such a wonderful and beautiful piece. I'm cheering you on!
I like those alien flowers! Also - men? At least mine now looks the other way when I come home from the LNS with more stash. I would totally dig the naked Adam and Eve.... too cute!
I love your painting Tanya! That is a really neat set!!
And your Rebecca has me slobbering (well, almost) all over my monitor! It is so drop dead gorgeous, and I know that border is a chore for you, but you will persevere!! Yay!!!
I'm so jealous of you Rebecca! It is breathtaking!
About the man thing....luckily I'm married to an artist so he totally gets it. His last piece was a rainbow cow lol! (much cooler than that sounds by the way lol)
You are so close! Rebeacca is absolutely gorgeous, definitely an heirloom piece!! Can't wait to see pics of your Goode Huswife start, not sure if I have seen that pattern before. Keep up the good work.
Rebecca looks amazing and it is almost done. Those few little flower are going to be ready in no time.
Your A&E set is just stunning! The thread keeper is perfect - not just an apple, but one with a bite taken out, very clever.
Hooray for Rebecca. What a great idea to commit to two flowers a day. I am a border-hater too and may have to try that discipline in the future.
Rebecca is really coming along Tanya!! You'll be finished in no time! I love the A&E set. It was probably really hard for you to paint that snake, huh?? It turned out great though!! :)
I love what you have done with Adam and Eve on this set - the ruler is my fav!!!! I love the Rebecca Sampler - you are the speediest stitcher around!!
Rebecca is really moving along! I hate working on borders like that but they really do add to the beauty of the piece when finished! Hang in there. I just love your new A&E set!
The "alien" border flowers on your beautiful Rebecca sampler are honeysuckle... I wish I could stitch this sampler, too!!!! Addie
LOVE the border on Rebecca - I was so inspired by your sampler - I ordered it and she came yesterday - It is quite a lovely sampler. The A&E set is so darling - men never get it unless they're stitchers too. Mel
Love, love, love you Adam and Eve accessories :-). Don't feel too bad, my DH doesn't appreciate my fasination with tombstones either.
Can't wait to see Rebecca finished :-).
Rebecca is looking gorgeous, not far to go now.
Your A&E set are lovely.
Rebecca is a very unusual sampler with all the elements inside it but it has a lot of charm, even with the alien border. Its exactly that which makes it different and not ordinary.
I think your Adam and Eve set is very original with the apple and all. Men are from Mars so what do you expect!!. : ))I go and plant topiary in a Victorian bath and DH asks me if that is a good move.
I don't know if its a good move but I love it.
Alice
LOL! Men ARE clueless. They secretly don't get the stitching, either.
Rebecca is dense with stitching, and yet, you are flying along. I love the alien border.
Your painted pieces are great! Yep, sometimes they just don't get it. But you know, that could be said of anyone who doesn't have a real appreciate of artistic endeavors, you know? I knew someone who received a *gorgeous* anniversary sampler, complete with crytal beading and intricate stitching, etc. It was framed beautifully and was a glorious labor of love-stunning. They put it in a back bedroom in the CLOSET!!!!!!!! Can you imagine?? Anyways, your Rebecca is a beautiful reward for time spent on those border flowers! It's truly a beauty!
Well, you KNOW I am thrilled with that A&E set--I think it's my favorite that you've done so far. ;) Your Rebecca is coming along so nicely!
Men... yes, definitely clueless. I think it's the third leg that inhibits normal thought processes.
Rebecca looks great, almost finished. Cant wait to see what you sent to Bloom.
