Sarah Elizabeth Brooke 1842

She made it into her frame last night.  Sarah will always be extra special to me.  She was the first antique sampler purchase to make her way from England to my home in Arizona.  I was a nervous wreck when I bought her, but I'm so glad I followed my instinct about reproducing her.  I hope you like her.  The charts are not quite ready, but hopefully very soon.  There are no specialty stitches, but the verse and Sarah's name and date are over one.  I think you could stitch them over two by simply extending the border and raising the roof, so to speak.
Thank you for the nice comments about my trip to the beach.  I'm excited about meeting you, too!

Blogger wouldn't let me super-size her, but you can double click on her for a larger photo.

Oh dear, I think I've just fallen in love... it's the great verse that does it for me too. Congrats on finishing it!

What a beautiful sampler! I applaud you for plunging into the purchase of such a lovely piece and reproducing her so ALL of us can enjoy her. I want to be one of the first to purchase the chart and stitch it. I have only one question: What is the blank area just in front of the checkered steps? Is it unfinished in the original or is it meant to be part of the yard? Addie

She's a looker and an absolute must-stitch (sooner rather than later) for me. I'll urge my shop to purchase copies of this as soon as they're available. You have fabulous taste in samplers!

Thank you, everyone! Adele, the white area is filled in and is how Sarah stitched hers. I did use a lighter color because I wanted it to contrast. I'm assuming that it is a pathway of some sort.

I have to agree with all the others. It is a must stitch, sooner than later.
I may even have to stitch this one twice, once for me and once for my sister Lisa for a Christmas gift next year. (I can say this because Lisa doesn't blog)

The sampler looks great with the castle. I bet that it took a lot of time to make something like that.
