May I have more hours in my day, please?

Country Life is now in it's beautiful burled wood frame. I thought it would be a real bugger to stretch and pin, but it wasn't that bad. I came close to running out of pins though. My guess is that I used close to a bazillion. It is so hard to photograph closely so here it is in sections.

We've had some gloomy, cool weather lately. Perfect weather to plop in front of the TV and indulge myself with my new wool obsession. I can stitch all day and night and never get tired of it, but this is a nice change of pace. I tried something new and tea dyed the cream colored mat part. It was just too bright. I even dunked the pennies in for a bit. I love the result. I wasn't sure if the wool would take a tea bath well, but I read that all natural fibers will. I have an idea to try next that will combine both penny mats and my love of samplers.

Here's the resting spot for it.

Like I said in my post title, I wish I could order up a few more hours in the day. I never seem to have enough time to get to all the crafty goodness that I want to. I miss making collage art and cards, and I really need to make more effort to do that again. I've just finished my first cross stitch design. The model will soon be stitched, and I'll share that when I can. Then there's the myriad of samplers waiting in the wings, not to mention a couple more must do's from market.
Something needs to give. I know... I'll give up exercising, laundry, and housework.
Have a wonderful week.

Just love the sampler, will have to add that one to my ever growing list of "want to stitch"! More hours in the day to work on our projects would be nice...wonder if we could justify hired help for all of the housework...!!! :)

Your CL is beautiful framed -- love that frame! And the penny mat! Now how perfect can it be for setting that wonderful lamp with shade on? Blue heaven!!! Yum! I agree -- I need more hours in the day too. Or maybe we could just make them last as long as they used to when we were 5. :D

I didn't know you did your own framing. It's just lovely.

Your new obsession seems to be paying off. I love the colours you chose and the rug looks great under the lamp. Perfect!

Can't wait till we get to see your new design!

Not enough hours in the day? Well, just think of it this way. Life is so full of goodies for you that you are not bored but full of creative spirit. And that's a good thing!

That frame is just perfect for Country Life!! I hate to imagine how many pins it took (although I did see the pictures somewhere). I couldn't believe it.

I love your mat too. It looks wonderful on the table with the sampler behind it.

And if you find out how to get more hours in the day, please let me know. There are just too many great things to do and not enough time.

Ummm, oh my gosh. That last picture makes me want to run around and do a wool mat, stitch that sampler, acquire the lamp with the fabulous shade, and put it someplace in my hallway that everybody can ooh and ahhh over it. FABULOUS!! Country Life is amazing, too. YGG!

I miss talking with you. We need to catch up. I've just gotten over pneumonia, so I'm back in the book reviewing game again. Just finished reviewing "Swamplandia," which I think you'd love. Miss you!

Adore your sampler! It looks wonderful. I'll add my request for a few more hours in the day to get more stitching done, but not to do actual work!

I'm looking forward to it to, Tanya. I think it will be a good thing at so many different levels! Thanks for suggesting it.

Country Life is gorgeous, great framing.

You Penny rug is lovely, congratulations

Great job on both Tanya. I hate stretching and pinning my finished pieces so I don't do much of my own framing. Your sampler looks fantastic as always! Congrats on the penny rug finish too, they are fun to do aren't they.

BEAUTIFUL sampler! It looks gorgeous in that frame. I know what you mean about the pins. I use little sequin pins and pick up a box or two whenever I am somewhere that carries them. I'm always afraid I'll run out! lol Your penny mat is wonderful as well. It looks great with the sampler you have on the wall.
