Here's what's happening...

As I inch ever closer to finishing Country Life, I am so ready to have it done. I wish my photo would do it justice because it is such a beautiful sampler. There's just a bit more of the border, a line of verse, and the over one animals in the corner. I'm considering adding a sheep and a cow in place of repeating the pig and horse as charted. In continuing my new love affair with wool and penny rugs, I made this candle mat recently. The black bottom was once a nice blazer from Goodwill.

I had this in mind when I chose the colors for the pennies.
Please ignore the old woman in the photo and meet my new granddaughter, Rowan Elizabeth. She was born on Wednesday. She's pink and perfect, and we are all in love with her already.

Here I am on Christmas day with the other grand kids, Olivia, Quinn, Kai, and Sawyer. We'll need to make room for Rowan next year.

I plan to start charting Sarah Elizabeth Brooke this week. I bought another antique sampler which just arrived yesterday, and I'll be doing that one, also. I'll post a picture next time. My plan for 2011 is to have those two ready and possibly an original design thrown in.

Your sampler is looking great, you have made good progress and I'm sure you will soon be finished. Your new grandaughter is gorgeous as are all your grandchildren. What old woman, I never noticed one. I saw a very youthful grandmother.

When you blow up the picture of Country Life it looks absolutely fantastic! I love your penny rug as well. It's so great to make things from recycled items. I really should start going through the Salvation Army racks. And Rowan is beautiful - such a sweet face.

And I definitely don't see any old woman in any of those photos - you blend in well with the kids - you all look young and happy!! :o)

Can't wait to see what you're charting and what you do in 2011.

Your country life is just wonderful - and do I feel you coming to the dark side (the wool side of life!)If you were closer - I'd have you pulling loops on a hooked rug in no time LOL - can't wait to see your new acquisition. Your Country Life is gorgeous! It would be cool to have two different animals in the corners that are left. Love the penny mat. And once again congratulations on Rowan. She's adorable! And so is the old lady with her. :D Old my foot! I can't wait for your reproductions to come out -- and I'm looking forward to seeing an original design from you!

Rowan Elizabeth is just adorable and she will fit right in with all the other cuties! Your candle mat turned out really good. If I lived close by someone who did that, I just might try my hand at it. I need that "push". Your Country Life Sampler looks great and I think you should put a sheep in the corner to make it your own.

Tanya, Congratulations on your beautiful new granddaughter. She is so precious! Country Life is quite beautiful, too, and I think a sheep in the corner would be perfect. I'm quite anxious to see your new sampler and also an original design by you. Better stitch faster on Jane Tindall so I will be ready for your new things. Many blessings and hugs from Kentucky - kelley

Love the sampler. It is really great, and I love that it is long and narrow. It's nice to have variety when hanging samplers.
Your wool projects are just lovely! I'm addicted to those kind of projects as well. They are perfect for the car or for traveling.
