A sneak peek at Jane

Here is a little peek at Jane Tindall 1864. The last stitches have been put in the model, I 'll soon be framing her, and the charts are in progress. She'll be travelling to market at the end of the month. It has been my absolute thrill and pleasure to reproduce this wonderful pastoral sampler, and I cannot thank her owner enough for giving me this opportunity. I'll be offering more snippets in the next couple of weeks.
And now for something a little different, it's what every sampler enthusiast needs, right? I made this pillowcase yesterday. I love this sampler fabric and the contrasting colonial print. It's my hugging pillow. The one I scrunch up with and travel with. Here's the front:

and the back.

Now that it's September, the mornings are starting to be cooler here in AZ. We are approaching my favorite time of the year. I can't wait to drag out the pumpkins, gourds, and bittersweet and decorate the house. Is it too early? When do you do it?

Thanks for the sweet comments about my Minnesota souvenirs, and also for the new grandchild congratulations.

Can't wait to see your designs! Nice pillow, I have my little "hug" pillow. I love it! My husband makes fun of me. I usually wait until late September early October to start decorating. But I'm not sure when I'm going to start here in TX. Still feels like summer to me (82 degrees when I left for an orientation this morning at 6:30).

I know that I'm going to love that sampler. How exciting that you were able to stitch it. And I can't wait to see what others come in the future.

Love your pillowcase too. I've got some of that backing fabric that I bought a while ago, just because. Now I think I have a use for it.

Jane is looking good. Thanks for the sneak peek. Your hug pillow is sweet.
It's not too early for Fall decorations... I plan to put mine out this weekend.

What a wonderful experience for you to reproduced the sampler and stitch it up. The sneek peek looks great! (See, unlike Glenna, I can manage a few more excitable words but I feel her 'gotta-have-it' feeling!)

Ohhh! Love the sneak peak. When do we get to see the rest? The colors are wonderful.
Your pillowcase is darling too!
Fall is definitely in the air. I say it's time to decorate, but DH would shoot me if I started decorating this early. He hates it when the summer is over! LOL
I think I'll give him a week or two.

Can't wait to see more of Jane - so exciting ! I can see little subtle changes in the season - a coolish breeze and not quite so sweltering - I will probably start putting out my fall things soon - mid september. Can't start soon enough for me ! Mel
