A weeks worth of Sarah

I'm still chugging along on Miss Woodham. Poor Ann Rayner is still waiting her turn with my needle. I know you've heard me say this over and over, but I hate borders. Simple ones are okay, but these involved ones, no. I'm still not in love with the Belle Soie, but I have taken your suggestions to shorten the length and it is better. I took the top photo in the sun and the one below in the shade. The one above looks more accurate in color. My friend, Margaret is probably finishing her Sarah Woodham any day now with that fast needle of hers. We always laugh at how we start in opposite corners. Since we seem to often be stitching the same thing, we can meet in the middle. I was asked if I always start in the bottom right. Yes, always. Starting in the upper left seems very awkward to me, but it seems to be what most others prefer. I'd love to be a fly on the wall this weekend at the Nashville Market. I'm sure there will be much to tempt us. I'm looking forward to seeing the new book from the Blackbird gals. Talk about eye candy! Have you seen this freebie from them? It's as cute as can be, and I want to stitch it teeny tiny.

I found time this week to plant lots of petunias. I'd show a picture, but I'd hate to be accused of rubbing it in. Our weather has been wonderful lately, but the new blooms on the trees are making me sneeze nonstop. While I'm busy working in the yard and garden, look who's lounging on the patio. Scarlett will now sit by Henry but she won't look at him. Still a little standoffish that one is. Henry loves Ruby because she'll play and chase after him like a puppy herself.

Say Cheese!
Thanks for stopping by and as always, I appreciate your kind words and comments. One more thing, I took a break from painting my needle case accessories because we've had several visitors over the past two months, and life has been hectic. I hope to have some news items to show very soon.

Sarah is gorgeous...and you are doing wonderful stitching on her. Margaret is definitely a whizzer with the needle isn't she?
Your puppies are so cute, that last picture looks like your hanging a ribeye over the top of them :)

Scarlett, Ruby, & Henry, the three of them are just too cute together. I love my cat, but I miss the companionship of a dog.

Sarah is just lovely. Between you and Margaret, I can almost see the whole thing and I love it.

Can't wait to see your new painted pieces, will you be painting an A&E?

Enjoy your sunshine and petunias while we suffer in snow (sigh) lol.

Oh I love your Sarah! She's a fun stitch, isn't she? I don't know why you don't like borders -- this one is great! No tricks, just repeats, no problem! lol! Sometimes I prefer to go for the border before the insides. :D I love the pics of the pups -- they're all so cute! I'm glad Scarlett is slowly warming up to Henry Blue. I hope that trend continues!

Sarah is absolutely beautiful!! I love it. I understand what you mean about borders. They discourage me at times. But the end result is always so worth it. :)

The dogs are so cute! It is funny that Scarlett will sit by Henry, but not look at him. :)

Enjoy your warm weather. I am hoping it heads this way soon!

Your Sarah is just gorgeous, Tanya! That border looks like it would give me fits, too but it sure is pretty!

Your poochies are just the cutest things.

I'd love to see some pics of your flowers - oh sure, we'd be jealous but that's okay. We'd be happy for you to have that kind of weather.

Oh goodness - for someone who doesn't like to stitch borders, you certainly pick out the samplers with what seem to be the most involved ones. It's looking wonderful! Love the pictures of your cuties too! And show all the pictures you want - yes, I'm jealous, but I also like seeing the pictures and realizing that spring starts in just about a month!!

Awww, I love to hear stories about how the 'triplets' are doing. It's like a little soap opera. Too cute!

Your Sarah is looking lovely. It's funny how we all like to start in a certain 'position'. This time I started stitching something from the bottom (instead of top left) and it was ok but it took some getting used to!

Good luck with the borders!

ps The cherry trees are starting to bloom here. It's cra-zy!

Loving your Sarah - I have avoided starting mine trying to focus on some other WIPs. I am with you 100% on the Belle Soie - I'm using it for Quakers & Quilts and yes it shreds a lot and is thin in some spots and thick in others. BS is okay but for the price I would rather buy Silk & Colors varigated threads - so much nicer to stitch with.

The pups are just too cute! Scarlett cracks me up with her disdain for her little brother.

Sarah's coming along so nicely! You wouldn't think you have visitors there to distract you--but maybe it's because you're taking refuge in needle and thread. ;)

I always enjoy seeing your progress on this lovely piece. And whenever I go to see such lovely samplers on the blogs I feel urged to start something new, and the urge is always so urgent, lol. And sometimes I just do it.

Happy Stitching!

Your Sarah is coming right along. She will be beautiful when you finish. I know what you mean about borders...I just started stitching a sampler whose entire border is in queen stitches! But I guess it is those darn borders that them so beautiful! Happy Stitching!

Sarah looks gorgeous! She is really coming along. We will have to make Margaret stitch with one hand behind her back to slow her down a bit. Love the photos of the pups - Henry is a charmer!
