A man without a head

Happy New Year to you all! I've had precious little stitching time recently. Partly due to the holidays, and partly because I came down with a nasty bout of the flu on the day after Christmas. Our entire family caught it one right after another. It was a miserable couple of days. The only good thing is that it helped kick start the annual January 1 diet. I'm not a big goal person, but it's always nice to start a new year. After the Christmas stuff gets put away, I always tear into cupboards, closets, and drawers, and reorganize. As much as I love the coziness of my Christmas decorating, it feels so good to throw out or donate unused things, and get my house back to normal.
Above is my progress on The Ann Rayner Sampler ~1839~ from Threads Through Time. This is such a pretty sampler. I'm using Lakeside's Buttercream , as charted but converted to NPI. The man's face is stitched over one, as are the small sheep.
Below is my take on the Prairie Schooler alphabet that I'm stitching along with this group. I'm doing it on 30ct. Legacy Linen over one. It's fun, but I try not to think about the 25 additional blocks. I'm SWP (stitching without pressure) on this one. If it takes me a year to finish, so be it.

Recently, I've had several new visitors leave comments. Thank you very much for taking the time to say hello. I am very, very behind in catching up with my blog reading, but I look forward to visiting you , too.

the sampler is lovely, and your progress on the abc sampler is also splendid. i think that you should change Y...I don't particularly care for that one either...

Happy New Year. Ann is looking so nice. I was really hoping that mine would show up before Jan 1st, but not the case, so she'll hopefully get started sometime this year and I'll just live through your wonderful progress for the time being. Love your progress on the PS alphabets - I'm doing the same thing - no rush, no worry - just work on it as I can.

And I'm so like you with the cleaning out things. That's all I've done the past few days - clean out the shelves in the workroom - the Salvation Army is going to love me!!

Argh!!!! Ok, I'm just going to have to stitch Ann, that's all there is to it! Those reds!!! Those colors!!! Ack! I'm doomed! So beautiful! Will a fat quarter of buttercream do it? I have a piece that size. I'll have to go look. Your PS Alphabets are looking great too. I'm so glad you start in the other corner so I can see the end of the alphabet. :D Glad you're feeling better!

Oh Yuck. Sorry to hear you and your family fell ill. I hope everyone's feeling better now.

I'm the same way as you. After the holidays I just want to de-clutter and organize stuff!

Your PS Alphabet is looking great. But I love Ann Rayner. The colours are so pretty. I hope one day you will share your NPI conversion and maybe I'll stitch it too!

Take care!

Happy New Year, Tanya! Those colors pop right out of the computer at me--I love Ann Rayner. And the PS sampler looks great too--I've put mine away temporarily because I don't like my fabric!

I'm sorry you all were il, but as you pointed out about kick-starting the diet, there is a little good in everything (I guess). Happy stitching!

Happy New Year, Tanya! We just returned home after a visit to SC. My brother was married on Jan 1 - it was a beautiful wedding and such fun to spend time with my family. I have spent my evening catching up on all the blogging I missed these past few days. My list of "must have patterns" has doubled in the last hour and Anne Rayner is going to the top. She is just beautiful and I love your fabric choice.

I am so sorry that you all had the flu - what a miserable time for all of you. I am so glad that you are feeling better.

Oh, great progress on the PS ABC - I plan to start mine soon - I figure a block a month will work for me. I am more into my A&E pieces these days. Speaking of A&E, my magazine arrived while we were gone - can't wait to kit this one up and start stitching.

Wishing you and your family a blessed 2010.

You continue to amaze me with your wonderful stitching and you are a real inspiration to me to continue to pick up my needle. Can you please tell me if you are stitching the prairie schooler as one and if so what size material and how much. Thank you and happy stitching.

Happy new year and wishing you an inspiring 2010! I love your sampler and the headless man is a funny sight but I am sure he will not stay that way. I so want to start on my PS alphabet one day. My dream is to stitch them all into a quilt.
