A weeks worth

Margaret Simcock

It's hot here in the Valley. We have had two weeks of triple digits. Where did spring go? One would think that I would have accomplished something on the stitching front. I wish that were true. I'm dividing my time between Sarah and Margaret. I love the diminutiveness of Sarah on the 45ct., but I can't stitch at my normal pace. It's driving me crazy. The over one alphabets went fast, and they are tiny. As I've said soooo many times before, I hate borders. I think that is part of the problem. This one is pretty, but it doesn't flow well when stitching. That might not make sense, but you know how you start to memorize the pattern after so much repetition? I have to keep checking the chart as it's fairly detailed. I find that my hand gets tired with the 45ct, too. Weird, huh?

Sarah Hartley 1827

I can't resist including this picture of Grandson, Sawyer. He recently turned one. Here he is enjoying some of his birthday cake. I know I'm biased, but is he cute or what?

Thanks to the response for my recent needle case sets, I have to get to painting today. I hope to have something to show soon.

Love your new sets!! Sawyer is a cutie pie. Your WIPs are both gorgeous, I wouldn't be able to choose between them either.

Oh my, YES, he is beyond cute!! You must be so proud, look at those gorgeous blue eyes. Love his name Sawyer too!

Your wips as always memorize me. But I too do NOT like borders, and I can see that this one would give you fits! You are progressing so nicely though, so keep up the wonderful work!!

Uh YEAH, he's cute! Adorableness all wrapped up in that sweet sticky face! What a doll. Your work is gorgeous-I've not done anything on 45 ct, but I'm really loving seeing your progress!

Oh, he's a cutie, frosting and all!

LOL about your comment on borders vs. over-one. Yeah, we'd make a good production team--you could do all the over-one, and I could do the borders, and we'd both be happy! Maybe your hand is tired because you're gripping it tensely, not enjoying that element? Like driving over a mountain pass. And I love it when I can memorize the flow of an area, or literally the stitches--probably a good memory exercise.

Amazing progress considering you are working on two projects at once Tanya. They are coming along really nicely. What a little sweety pie grandson with those big blue eyes!!! You feel like kissing that mouth clean. I also want to be a grandma! Enjoy him. I need not tell you they grow up so fast!! : ) He really is too sweet for words.

Well, Sawyer is a little cutie pie. Look at those eyes! He's saying "wow, that's some yummy birthday cake, I'll have to remember that taste!"

Your stitching looks great. I can't imagine triple digit weather - though I can imagine it would be hard to stitch in that weather!

Yes, he really is cute! Happy birthday to him! I love the progress on both pieces. Needless to say, I'm also in love with both pieces. You've gotten a lot done!!!

Your grandson is SO cute!

I like your WIPS, I'm starting to get the urge to try some samplers. But I don't know if I have the patience for them. Sounds funny, huh? I like Mirabilia patterns that take me years to finish, but I no patience for small designs and samplers. hmmm....

What an adorable grandbaby! Except now that he's one, he's not a baby, is he? Happy birthday to Sawyer!

I always love watching your progress on samplers. You have such great taste. Hmmm, lately I've been thinking that some of my 40-count projects are too big. 45 count, you say? I just may have to try that.

Sawyer sure is a cutey! I find borders boring. Thanks for sharing your WIPs, you have such excellent taste in samplers.

Both wips are great Tanya! I think you are making very good progress on both! Borders drive me nuts too!

Sawyer is just a cutie patootie!! It looks like he had a great birthday! :)

Love the WIPs! I am the same, not a fan of border stitching... I prefer to get to the 'meaty' part of the samplers! Great progress on your WIPs, though--they're both wonderful.

I love both your WIPs but so far I think Margaret is my favorite! I can't wait to see more! I know what you mean about "flow".

I'd like to call dibs, please. Sawyer, you might not realize this now, but there is a lonely old Spinster in Indiana who will wait for you to get all growed up so that she can marry you, K?

The new sets are sweet!

And Sawyer-how cute is he!

I know what you mean about borders. I don't like doing them either. I am always relieved when they work out right.
Both samplers are lovely. I don't know which one I like the most. Isn't over 1 on high count linen fun, (no it's not she says lol).
What a beautiful little boy. He is very cute and has beautiful eyes. - Sandra.

Oh I love your WIPs. But I can relate to what you say about border stitching. I definitely love borders but only when they are done, lol.
