Warm Wednesday

Things are heating up here in the desert. We're supposed to reach 100 degrees today. Oh, goody! Happy, hot days are here again. It's actually not that bad until the humidity creeps up, which happens in July. I've lived where I was housebound because of the snow and cold, and I'll take the heat any day. You can always stay inside and stitch or cool off in the pool. My stitching progress has been fairly insignificant this past week. I did two motifs (the pink rose and the tulip) over one on Sarah Hartley on the 45ct. I have to admit that the first couple of stitches made my heart race a little. I was just sure that I had bitten off more than I could handle. It got easier as I kept going, and it actually went fast since I'm doing the tent stitch. I love how they look, so my anxiety was worth it. The Sand Dune fabric looks really pink in the photo, but it's not that bright. I finished the Bird Sampler, too.

OK, I cannot imagine your being apprehensive about stitching anything because you do such wonderful work. Frankly your heat w/pool/with a/c sounds pretty good about now. Especially with pool. I've visited AZ several times and loved it. (My ex-husband was a German and many Germans have a fascination with anything "wild west," so for him the favorite vacation was staying in a little cabin-motel in Tombstone, bless his tacky little heart, so he could view that terrible Ok Corral thing. LOL. Although I've got to admit, that sun felt really good in Feb.) I'd miss the lush trees here, but not the ice and cold in the winter. And we've had about 3 weeks of drenching rains until everything just feels soggy.

I like Sarah Hartley--I wasn't sure if it was too subtle, but the pattern picture doesn't do it justice--it's way more vivid in your photos--it's going to be amazing. And by the way, I noticed your sampler right away on the Attic Newsletter. Yay!

I do love your Bird Sampler! And I love your progress on Sarah Hartley. It's really nice. Of course, I'm still thinking about the Plantation Sampler you did and am kicking myself that I didn't stitch this one. But I guess it can just sit in the "hopeful" pile! And I would have a lot of difficulty stitching over 1 on 45 count, let along stitching over 2! It's going to beautiful when you're done!

Well you have certainly made more progress than I have (actually I am ashamed even calling what I did progress) and you had a finish to top it. Cannot wait to see the Bird sampler framed. Its looking very pretty so far.

Love your BOAF Bird Sampler piece and Sarah is really coming along.

Our high today is in the 60's and tomorrow we are looking for a high of 47, so 100 doesn't compute ;-).

OH goodness, Tanya, that is gorgeous progress. I have not attempted 45 ct, and not sure that I will at this point. Your works are always so fabulous!!

I adore your bird sampler, I am wondering, what fabric and fibers did you use? What was called for, or something else? It is lovely!
