The Plantation Sampler is framed

Finally. Wow, what an ordeal. I had my heart set on this particular frame from the minute I saw it. I placed the order and patiently waited. It came in warped and not very burled in some areas. We reordered it, and it is much better, BUT ,I'm not too happy with the way the veneer is pieced. I checked with a few places that carry this same molding and they all told me the same thing. It's because of the veneer not always being in long enough strips. I'm not sure I buy into that, but I've ordered burled frames four different times, and they always came in the same way. Over all, I love the way it looks and when it's hanging with the others, I won't notice it as much. The Adam and Eve is more than halfway done. I'm on the verse now, and I'll post a photo soon. Today I plan to move things around in my craft room. I have a whole wall that I hope to fill with samplers from top to bottom. I need to reorganize things a bit before that can happen. Poor Isabella Brackin is hanging there all by herself, and she's longing for some company.

I managed to squeeze in some painting awhile back. This set is on my Etsy.

I love the frame you picked for this piece. You must be so thrilled to finally have it framed. Can't wait to see your progress on the A&E sampler. I haven't put another stitch into mine, but maybe tonight!

I also want frames perfect so I understand that you are not completely satisfied. A frame is the cherry on the cake and the final touch. I also think once hanged it will be less obvious because through the lens of a camera everything just look different. Once you see the big picture you will be happy. It looks beautiful. I am in love with the border from your sampler.

Your Plantation Sampler is beautiful and I love the frame you have chosen. I'm sure once you've stepped back a bit from the frame you will be happy with it too!

I wish you luck organizing your craft room. That can take me hours. We're going to want to see snaps of your new sampler wall.

Hi Tanya,

It is gorgeous. May I ask where you order your frames?

Hope you are enjoying some spring weather! :)

Your sampler is beautiful. The frame is great and you probably won't notice the piecing so much when it is on the wall.

Absolutely gorgeous and that frame is to die for!

The frame is just wonderful Tanya and suits the sampler perfectly. I saw something similar in my framers, but the price made me gasp, so I bought something cheaper instead.

OH it is stunning and the molding is perfect for this. Sorry for the disappointment in the burling.

Would so love to see a pic of your sampler wall, when you get it done!!

I love your choice of the frame, and while I see what you mean about the veneer piecing, but only because you mentioned it, but I think it looks fine!

Thanks for the offer of the 2 Red Houses Color Key; someone emailed it to me the next morning. You guys are tremendously supportive! (Of course, now that I have the whole thing in hand, I probably won't want to stitch it!! Absence makes the heart grow fonder...)

I had the same problem with matching the veneers except mine was painfully obvious. It was a gift for my sister and I was pissed when they brought it out of the wrapper to show me. One's eyes go right to the unmatching veneer rather than the stitched piece and they thought I was out of my mind. Long story short...they refused to re-frame and I refused to ever go back to that framer. I know Birds eye maple veneer is hard to match but put some effort into it.From the picture, yours really is fabulous and the Sampler is awesome!
