My granddaughter, Olivia had a sleep over at our house on Saturday. We had a great time. We made a red velvet cake and a new blanket for her. It was one of those fleece jobbies that you cut strips all the way around and then tie it together. It was supposed to be impossible to mess up, but somehow I ended up with more strips on one side than another, lol. It might look a little weird...but she loves it.
Here's what I painted recently. I'm never doing another scene like the one with the lighthouse again. It took me all morning to do. What do I know about lighthouses? I live in the desert.
Speaking of which, it is all of 64 degrees right now. That might sound wonderful to you...but I think it's cold. In fact, I'm cooking a pot of chili. I love it when I can throw everything in a one pot and call it dinner. Less cleanup and more time to stitch tonight. Yeehaw!

I think your Plantation Sampler is looking wonderful! I am intimidated already by 40 ct and now I am in awe that you can do 45 ct! Wow.
I love all the stitching you've done. It has inspired me to get back into Samplers that I love so much. Take care!
Oh my goodness! But your lighthouse finishes are spectacular!!! OMG! I'm in love.
I love this post though. You are so funny with your wording - very enjoyable.
I have to admit. I've never stitched on anything higher than 36, and I'm about to stitch on 40, but your Plantation Sampler looks stunning. It does look like over one. Very nice job!
Your sampler is coming along really well Tanya, considering the amount of time you spend on your painting. The new sets are gorgeous by the way, I wish you would stop tempting me.
Your Plantation Sampler is so pretty.
Love the whale in your lighthouse painting :-)
The painting is fabulous, as always! :) I love love love your Plantation Sampler. Seeing it stitched on 45 ct reminds me of a tapestry. B-E-A-utiful! YGG!
You are making beautiful progress on Plantation Sampler. I love the animals! Your new sets are beautiful also!
Your sampler is looking super and all your painting is lovely! I loved your sampler list so much I have made my own and now need to purchase a few of them!
Hi, Tanya--the ruler/needle case/keep arrived safely at my office today, and it's even more wonderful in person than on-screen. I've left it there for now since it brings color and hominess to my drab cubicle, although I'll bring it home soon to where all the biggest stitching action is. I love them! Also love the set with the lighthouse on them--it looks just right, by the way (and I'd know--I lived a mile from one that used to honk all night long on foggy nights, not that I ever heard it really). You're making great progress on Plantation. And, I thought of you when I was crusing Shakespeare's Peddler; they have 48 count dower linen....if you can do 45, you can do 48!
come to my blog and get your award
It's coming along nicely.
I just went to your other blog to say 'hi' and saw that you have this blog also so I hopped on over. Your Plantation Sampler is looking fabulous. The little painting on the ruler is adorable...love it. Hope all is well. have a great weekend :)
