Thursday at our house

This morning I could be found sitting out here on the patio. It's my favorite place to sit and stitch. It's usually very peaceful except for the cooing doves and chirping birds. I encourage the birds to hang out in our yard with feeders and birdbaths.

Here's some progress on Ann Hicks. I had taken a little break from her to work on Ann Wragg. I kind of have a love/hate relationship with this sampler. One minute, I'm all enthused, and the next I want to stuff her in the bottom of my stitching basket. I think I dislike some of the colors, and for once I'm sticking to the original. If you like pink and (mostly green), this is the one for you. Even a couple of the crowns are green. Nagging thoughts of what I want to stitch next have begun. The funny thing is, if I go with what I think I'll go with, her name is Ann, too. Last year it was all about the Sarah's.

While I was stitching, I had mama dove to keep me company. She's made her nest in our grapefruit tree.
And where were those lazy dogs you might be wondering? They were in their usual spot. They can be such bums.

I also spent some time skimming through the new issue of Country Sampler, and saw this: I want this to be my kitchen. Isn't it awesome? If I ever get to replace my cabinets, this would be what I'd choose. I love the way they mix it up and leave the shelves open. If I could have a stove area like this, well...I'd actually want to cook.

Oh, it's fun to dream....

Ann Hicks is sooooo pretty! I like green. :D But I like blue and red too. lol! That kitchen -- dream on! I don't think anything would make me WANT to cook. :D But that kitchen is nice, admittedly. I need a new kitchen, but it's not happening anytime soon. Sigh. I see Henry is by himself there (in some sense). Hope the girls are treating him well.

Ann is beautiful, Tanya! I really do like her. Your porch is lovely and looks like a wonderful place to curl up with a good book.

A new kitchen is definitely what our house needs - maybe when I finish school.

Enjoy your weekend.

There is definitely something about Ann that I really, really like and I don't think it is the greens and pinks! Although from this pic it looks like more red then pink and that I would like. I think it would be an interesting stitch, I sure hope that the rest goes well for you and your love/hate turns into an all love relationship!

LOL I love the puppy pic, and yes it appears they are taking advantage of that empty sofa!

The dove is so pretty!! I love, love, love your porch, want to come and stay and that kitchen? Well, looks like something I would dream about! Best of luck!! They say some dreams do come true! Leave it out where the hubby can see it and often!!

Oh Tanya, Ann Hicks is as lovely as I thought she would be. It's always nice to see them stitched up compared to the originals.
Love your dream kitchen, but I would have a fat chance of getting one like that lol. Your porch is lovely and it looks like it is the ideal place to stitch.
Love your Mrs Dove. I always love them when they come and pay us a visit. I love the ones with a little top notch. - Sandra.

Looks like the "children" like to use the entire sofa, Tanya. LOL

I'm sorry you're not liking Ann Hicks. But honestly, your photo of it is soooo pretty! I hope you start feeling better about her soon.

I do love your patio. I LOVE wicker furniture and birdhouses. Don't you ever get storms there where everything flies away? I could only have a patio like that if everything is enclosed. I can just picture you stitching there. Ann looks pretty so far but I agree that colours have a lot to do with liking or hating a sampler. This summer I think I will finally have my kitchen fitted, ten years on, but from the time I designed it, I have fallen in love with several other kitchen layouts and colours. Too late to change my mind now as its waiting to be fitted. Tell me about lazy dogs! My lot soak up sunshine on every occasion.

Ann is so pretty! That is funny how you seem to stick with certain names each year. I love Country Sampler and always drool over the pictures and goodies.

I would love a kitchen like that too, but I think that's in my dreams. I would love to have your porch too - what a wonderful, relaxing place it looks like.

Ann is beautiful Tanya. I can't just see you outside on your wonderful porch stitching her. Sounds like heavy to me.

WOW that is a dream kitchen - LOVE IT ! and I also love your porch - a beautiful porch is something I wanted so badly when looking for a new house - I settled for a patio by the pool. Love your samplers - Ann Wragg is wonderful - I am always amazed at how much you get accomplished. Mel

Oh, I love that porch of yours. I can just imagine how lovely and cool and calm it can be...although in the middle of summer you may disagree!

Ann is lovely. I want to see more!

As to that kitchen, yeah, dreams are free and you never know!

I love seeing the 3 kids on the couch, each staking out his/her territory!

I hope your hay fever is better now!

Ann is beautiful!! And so is that patio. Gorgeous! I can see where it would be a perfect place to sit and stitch.

That kitchen is very nice. If that were my kitchen, I would probably never want to cook so that I wouldn't mess it up. LOL!

Have a great weekend!

Oh my gosh, what a great kitchen!! I love Country Sampler. I have the latest issue on its way to me as we speak... I only did a slight bit of panicking when I realized the ash cloud grounding all flights might delay it. Argh. Ann Hicks is coming along SO nicely! I had to laugh at your pups conked out on the sofa. ;)

I am amazed that you didn't change the colors! This looks so different in the magazine.
I love the kitchen! So perfect for your house!
I went to Eldreth Pottery this weekend, and was thinking of you. I bought a couple of things, I'll have to post soon.
Take Care!
